TORNIKE KANDELAKI

Choirmaster

Since 2014, she has been a singer of the State Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance "Erisioni". Since 2023, she has been the ensemble's Choirmaster.

Tornike Kandelaki was born on June 30, 1991 in Tbilisi. He was still at school when he started to sing in a children’s folk ensemble Mdzlevari. It whas when he decided to make the study of Georgian traditional music as his profession. Old and modern recordings of folk songs and chants helped him in his pursuit. In 2009, after finishing school, he enrolled Giorgi Mtatsmindeli University of Chant and Folk Song where he studied to become a choirmaster/regent

In 2015 he successfully graduated from the university. Till now he trains choirs of adults and children and teaches chanting and singing to them.
In 2000-2007 he sang in boy’s ensemble Mdzlevari
In 2013-2019 he headed the folk ensemble Ertoba
In 2014-2017 he worked in The Folklore State Centre of Georgia
Since 2019 he has been the head of ensembles Orbeli and Children’s Ensemble Alilo at Bolnisi municipality.
Since 2018 till now he has been the member of Ranina quartet
Since 2014 till no he has been the actor and singer of Georgian State National Singing and Dancing Academic Ensemble Erisioni and since 2003 he has been the choirmaster of the same ensemble. As the choiremaster of Erisioni Tornike Kandelaki has enriched the repertoir of the ensemble. Tornike kandelaki, as the choirmast has made a significant contributions in the recoding and releasing of the new audio album of the ensemble.
