In 2001, UNESCO recognized Georgian folk song as a masterpiece of the musical thought of the peoples of the world. In an interview published in the magazine "America" in 1967 (1967 N123), the 84-year-old Stravinsky said: One of the strongest, indelible musical impressions I have received is from the late Noah Greenberg and those polyphonic vocal recordings... This tradition, which dates back to ancient times, is a great treasure in the science of performing skills. This treasure is much more precious than all the achievements of modern music... In the same year, the Universal company selected and published recordings by the best performers and ensembles in the world: Montserrat Caballe, Freddie Mercury, Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti, Sarah Brightman, José Carreras, Placido Domingo, Maria Callas and others. Among them is "Samaia" (Shatilis Asulo) - from the show program Erisioni Georgian Treasure. This is an unprecedented case in the history of Georgian culture.

The Georgian Chanting Foundation was initiated by the businessman Vano Chkhartishvili, with the blessings and prayers of Ilia II, the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, in 2012.
