Since 2015, Tamaz Jamagidze has been the leader of the Folk Instrument Orchestra of the Georgian State National Singing and Dancing Academic Ensemble “Erisioni”. A specialist in foreign languages by profession, his love for folklore overcame him and he connected his life with music and Georgian folk instruments. In 1987, he successfully graduated from the Georgian Folk Instrument Studio at the House of Artists of Georgia, and then from the Orchestra Department of the Georgian Academy of Arts with the specialty of a performer and teacher of Georgian folk instruments.
Tamazi's professionalism was determined by his rich creative path. He worked in many ensembles: "Urmuli" (member), "Aragvelebi" folk ensemble (head of the orchestra), "Khorumi" folk instrument ensemble of TSU (member), "Mukhrani" (member), "Simi" (member). He was also engaged in fruitful studio work on many musical projects as a studio musician. Since 2012, he has been the head of the "Kaldea" women's vocal instrumental ensemble of the Georgian Technical University. At the same time, he heads the children's folk art studio at the Gldani Archangels' Choir, where Georgian traditional music, singing and chanting are studied.
